ACHS EQuIP and 2nd Tier Benefits Assessments

Private Hospitals and Private Day Hospital Facilities

As an accredited member of the ACHS Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program organisations meet the requirements of the Private Health Industry Quality and Safety Committee (PHIQS) and are compliant with the requirements stipulated in the Commonwealth Circular PHI 05/04

The ACHS is an industry recognised and approved agency to accredit organisations against the Private Sector Quality Criteria (PSQC) in Commonwealth Circular PHI 05/04

The Private Sector Quality Criteria in Circular PHI 05/04 are incorporated into the EQuIP survey process and ACHS surveyors are aware of the need to ensure that private health organisations are compliant with the criteria

Both EQuIp 3rd edition and EQuIP 4 standards include the criteria that are required to gain 2nd tier benefits. As a result there are no extra requirements for organisations during the ACHS survey process to obtain 2nd Tier Benefits
