ACHS Consultancy: accreditation processes, standards and education

As one of the three most established health care accreditation organisations globally, ACHS and ACHSI have expertise to assist countries in the development of their own accreditation and quality improvement programs.

The ACHS has participated in the review of the standards of the Irish Health Services Accreditation Board, Japan Council for Quality Health Care, NHS (England) and the Danish rating system.

Current consulting services delivered by ACHSI include working with health authorities in China and the Asia Pacific Region on local quality improvement programs as well as accrediting hospitals in Hong Kong and training local surveyors.

In India ACHSI is working with the Quality Council of India and the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers to support the development of the local health care accreditation and quality program.

Education and organisational development programs

ACHSI also offers complete education solutions with an experienced in-house team of education program designers and facilitators.

In the Middle East and India ACHSI has partnered with Quality Healthcare Australia to  play a pivotal role in delivering successful organisational development programs for  organisations wishing to improve performance and achieve accreditation.

ACHSI has expertise in how to establish, manage and evaluate a surveyor training program, including selection of appropriate surveyors with relevant industry experience.

ACHSI also has extensive experience training surveyors for internal and local accreditation programs. The emphasis of the training is on ensuring team work, inter-rater reliability and finding practical evidence relating to achievement of standards.

Australian surveyors, who are industry peer experts and participate in ongoing professional development programs, are valued internationally.  For more than twenty years these peer experts have been surveying in New Zealand and in recent years a surveyor exchange program has been established with the Republic of Ireland.

International recognition

The ACHS, including its subsidiary ACHSI, has been accredited by the ISQua International Accreditation Program since 1997.
