Workshop outcomes
 
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be:
  • able to understand the data on the most common causes of patient medication errors, and how it relates to their organisation;
  • able to examine processes used within their organisation to identify and assess areas of greatest risk; and
  • equipped to improve medication safety in their organisation.

About the Presenter
 
Daniel Lalor
 
 
Daniel is currently the Project Manager, Medication
Safety with the Clinical Excellence Commission in NSW.
Daniel’s background is in clinical pharmacy and he now specialises in issues related to the safe and quality use
of medicines. 
In this field, Daniel has worked with a number of State and National committees and organisations to improve
the safety and quality of patient care. 
 
In his current role, Daniel is responsible for supporting
a range of tools and resources for analysing medication management systems as well as identifying emerging risks to medication safety through the use of incident data.  He is also involved in leading and coordinating quality and safety improvement activities related to use of medicines.
 
Daniel is committed to improving patient safety through improving the safety and quality of medicines use
