New LSPN: How to register

You will not be able to claim Medicare benefits against your new LSPN number without becoming accredited.

To apply for accreditation with ACHS, phone Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Advice on 02 9281 9955 or email diagnostic.imaging@achs.org.au

We will register you for accreditation and send you the necessary documents for payment and for submitting the paperwork to become accredited.

Assuming that you have all the correct papers on hand, it will take one to two weeks to process your application.

Registered and granted ‘Deemed Accreditation’? How to gain Accreditation

The next step in the process is to apply for accreditation prior to the 30 June 2009. You will be emailed details of how to become accredited.

Members of the ACHS program who wish to apply early for accreditation may contact ACHS at diagnostic.imaging@achs.org.au

Please include the following information in your email – organisation name and Reference Number.

Also confirm that you have received a ‘Deemed Accreditation’ Certificate and letter and that the details on these documents were correct.

You will be then emailed:

               - terms and conditions

               - remittance advice

               - self assessment tool

Forgot to register for accreditation?

Practices with existing LSPNs that did not register for accreditation by 30 June 2008 do not have ‘deemed accreditation’ and are therefore not eligible to provide diagnostic imaging services under Medicare from 1 July 2008 until they are granted accreditation.

Please contact ACHS for advice on how to reinstate your Medicare benefits (Conditional Accreditation) and move towards accreditation.
