About us
ISQua
  ISQua Accreditation

Our own external peer review

Like our members we demonstrate our commitment to continuous quality improvement through undergoing accreditation through the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua).

In May 2010 it was announced that the ACHS has been reaccredited by ISQua until February 2014.

The survey, conducted in September 2009, included a week-long peer review based at the ACHS offices in Sydney. During the week the ISQua surveyors had the opportunity to meet and have discussions (which included several on-site visits) with ACHS members, staff, Board members, surveyors and stakeholders. The ISQua surveyors not only review ACHS accreditation processes but look into internal systems, such as information management and governance.

As with the majority of Australian healthcare organisations that participate in ACHS accreditation, the ISQua program forms an important part of our own internal systems for monitoring and guiding ACHS performance.

The surveyors commended many areas of our performance and provided recommendations for improvement. The report, together with our responses to these recommendations is available here.

Our EQuIP 4 standards as well as our surveyor training program are also accredited by ISQua.
