Overview of ACHS products and services

The core accreditation program is the Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP), guiding organisations through a four year cycle of Self-Assessment, Organisation-Wide Survey and Periodic Review to meet ACHS standards.

The ACHS undertakes a comprehensive EQuIP standards review and consultation process every four years to ensure the standards remain current, continue to reflect best practice and evidence and are achievable.

The ACHS has finalised EQuIP 4, the 4th edition of the EQuIP standards. The ACHS will commence surveying all member health care organisations against EQuIP 4 from 1 July 2007. Organisations with a self-assessment or onsite survey scheduled between January 2007 and 30 June 2007 will have the option to use either EQuIP 3rd edition or EQuIP 4.

Other ACHS programs include:

·          EQuIP Certification

·          EQuIP Corporate (for Health Services and Member Services)

·          EQuIP In-depth Reviews

·          ACHS Quality for Divisions Network

With over 300 indicators in total (as at December 2005), our clinical indicator program is the most comprehensive in Australia. It is also the only national clinical indicator program which examines data across a full range of medical disciplines.

We also provide customised reporting from our rich data sources, enabling single health care organisations or groups of organisations to compare their own performance to state / territory and national aggregates.

We also offer customised education, workshops, consultancies and access to publications, supporting ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
