The Australian Council on Health Care Standards is delighted to bring you the Quality Improvement Lead (QIL) Training Program as a virtual program in 2021. The virtual program will closely mirror the very successful face to face offering which has been running across Australia since 2016.

Who should register for the program

This is a practitioner and lead level program for anyone working in any area of the health system (e.g. hospitals, aged care, primary care, mental health, community care, dental services etc).

It is ideal for: executives, clinical directors, nurse managers, clinical nurse consultants, registered nurses with greater than 3 years clinical experience, medical consultants, GPs and registrars, allied health managers and directors, clinical governance directors, quality managers, patient safety managers, consumer engagement leads and any clinician or manager who has responsibility for patient quality and safety as part of their core position.

Working on your project

Participants will be supported to undertake a work based improvement project which involves improving the quality and safety of care for patients. You will receive methods, tools and coaching by the faculty to undertake your project. At the end of this program, you will deliver a 15min presentation virtually with a 5min Q&A from a small panel. You will also submit a 500 word abstract describing your project.

Registration is for the full course only; it is not possible to undertake part of the course.

We are offering discounts for full payment of the course upfront and further discounts for organisations who send three or more participants.

There is also an option for instalment payments. Participants will pay for each module a week prior to the module's commencement date. Once registered for Module 1, this confirms your enrolment for the full course. For subsequent modules, participants will receive an email prompting them to register and pay one week prior to the modules commencement. Once payment is received a confirmation email will be sent from the Improvement Academy with calendar invitations and links to the join the sessions in Zoom. Please note that unless payment is received participants will not receive the links to join the sessions as the Eventbrite payment and Zoom systems are fully integrated.
