Our Members

Over 1450 healthcare organisations are members of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) quality improvement and accreditation programs and nearly 650 organisations belong to the ACHS Clinical Indicator program.   

ACHS members have a commitment to patient care and service delivery and recognise the need for continuing quality improvement.  ACHS members come from across Australia and from across the world - we work with organisations in Hong Kong, the Middle East, India and New Zealand. Our member organisations are from across the healthcare spectrum:

  • Public and private healthcare organisations
  • Major metropolitan teaching hospitals
  • Day procedure centres and day hospitals
  • Community health centres
  • Outreach patient services provided by a hospital
  • Palliative Care organisations
  • Rural and Remote health organisations 
  • Mental health facilities
  • Nursing agencies
  • Drug and alcohol support centres
  • Correctional centres health care facilities 
  • Dental and Oral Health services
  • Auxiliary services which support the health sector

Designated Customer Services Managers provide focused guidance and support throughout the various phases of accreditation and in preparation for surveys.  

ACHS surveyor teams monitor performance and are trained to provide consultation and support to member organisations during the self-assessment and pre-survey process. 

Our members also include corporate organisations that monitor and manage the performance of health service delivery across Australia. 

Access to the ACHS Clinical Indicator program is a free service provided as part of the membership to ACHS accreditation programs. The Clinical Indicator Program is also available on a fee-for-service basis to non-members.

ACHS membership includes a regular e-newsletter, ready access to all ACHS publications and program resources, secure access to the Electronic Assessment Tool (EAT) and Performance Indicator Reporting Tool (PIRT) electronic reporting tools and information on ACHS Education workshops and onsite consultancies.

ACHS does not offer individual memberships to the general public, however if you are a staff member of an ACHS member organisation you are able to access the ACHS website information. To do this please register HERE.
