Improvement Academy providing educational offerings for Australia’s Aged Care sector

Following the findings of the Royal Commission into Aged Care, the ACHS Improvement Academy will share its extensive experience in education for the Australian healthcare workforce to also include the Aged Care Sector.

“The Aged Care Royal Commission is encouraging quality and safety frameworks for aged care providers to come in line with the practices that are common in healthcare,” said ACHS CEO Dr Karen Luxford.

“As experts in the field, the ACHS Improvement Academy is well placed to support organisations as they align themselves to the recommendations over the next few years and beyond.

“The Improvement Academy is well known for its excellence in clinical quality and safety training, and more than 5,300 health workers around Australia have undertaken its courses and programs over the last six years,” Dr Luxford said.

The Improvement Academy will be offering a suite of interactive virtual training programs in addition to customised offerings to suit specific organisational needs.

Upcoming events will be promoted on our website with opportunities for training each month. To launch the series, three interactive virtual programs tailored for the aged care sector are now open for registration covering:

• Serious Incident Investigation and Response – on Tuesday 4 May.                  
• Open Disclosure - on Wednesday 19 May, and                           
• Improving Consumer Engagement - on Tuesday 1 June.
