Please see the updates below:
Ambulance Health Services: The user manual for Ambulance Health Services (previously under the working title of Paramedical Care) has now been sent to the Council of Ambulance Authorities (CAA) for endorsement. Once endorsed by CAA and ACHS, it will be released for data collection starting in 2024. We thank all the working party members for their feedback on this set.
Ophthalmology: The Ophthalmology Manual has been endorsed by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. The manual was endorsed by ACHS in August and will be uploaded to our website in September for data collection starting in 2024. We thank the working party and members who provided such welcome feedback on these indicators.
Infection Control: The Infection Control working party has met and a draft clinical indicator user manual is in production. The draft manual will be circulated to members for feedback in September. There are some new indicators and tightening of definitions for others. The stratifications have also been narrowed to cover the lower end of bed numbers (splitting 1-199 into 1-99 and 100-199).
Day Patient: We are in the process of obtaining nominees for participation in the Day Patient Working Party from the endorsing bodies. A survey will be sent to members for feedback on this set, which the Working Party to review at the upcoming meeting. Please look out for this survey, as we value your feedback.
ACHS would like to thank Dr Stephen Tobin, Clinical Advisor; Dr Janney Wale and Ms Stephanie Newell, Consumer Representatives; Ms Jillian Schaefer, Clinical Coder for all their contributions in all projects mentioned above.
