ACHS Improvement Academy Welcomes New Director

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Leah Falkingham as the new Director of the ACHS Improvement Academy (IA).

We are delighted to announce that Leah will be joining the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) as the new Director of the Improvement Academy, commencing Tuesday, 25 November 2025. 

Leah brings more than 15 years of experience driving healthcare quality, workforce capability, and education innovation across global health systems. Her expertise lies in transforming organisations into adaptive learning environments that continuously improve safety, sustainability, and compliance with regulatory standards. 

Recognised for her ability to blend design thinking, systems leadership, and environmental, social, and governance strategy, Leah has delivered measurable improvements in patient outcomes, workforce resilience, and organisational impact throughout her career. She also possesses deep knowledge of healthcare provider accreditation processes and has worked extensively with standards such as EQuIP and the NSQHS Standards. 

Leah’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the ACHS Improvement Academy. Her leadership will strengthen our commitment to supporting healthcare organisations in achieving excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
