Be Equipped to Lead Change

Change Management Empowers Healthcare Professionals to Lead with Confidence.

Successful transformation requires a clear strategy, strong leadership and the ability to engage and support people throughout the journey. Without strong change management, even the most well-designed initiatives can falter, leading to wasted resources, disengaged staff, and hindered progress.

The Improvement Academy are pleased to offer, ‘From Resistance to Readiness: Mastering Change in Healthcare,’ training designed to build the skills and confidence needed to successfully lead change.

Led by internationally recognised healthcare consultant Mr Pieter Walker, this 3-hour training equips participants with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to overcome resistance and drive meaningful improvement in real-world healthcare settings.

“Early on, I realised that many of the challenges facing frontline healthcare workers weren’t due to lack of skill, but system inefficiencies. That drove me to shift focus from individual care to improving the systems that support it.”

He emphasises that strong healthcare leaders today must be adaptable, emotionally intelligent, and people-focused, able to lead under pressure and create psychologically safe environments for teams to thrive.

Drawing on decades of experience leading transformation across healthcare and other sectors, Pieter Walker believes that effective leadership is central to successful change. He highlights the evolving demands on today’s healthcare leaders, “Today’s healthcare leaders must be adaptable, data-informed, and people-centric. The rapid pace of change—whether due to technology, workforce challenges, or shifting patient expectations—requires leaders who can navigate uncertainty while keeping teams engaged and motivated,” he says.
