New Clinical Care Standard reporting available

ACHS supports the release of new Clinical Care Standards by the Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Healthcare (ACSQHC) with new reporting functionality.

Following the release of new Clinical Care Standards by the Commission, ACHS’s Performance and Outcomes Service (POS) offers the facility to collect the new set of indicators for the Standards.

The new Clinical Care Standards are a series of quality statements that describe the care patients should be offered by healthcare organisations for a specific condition or defined clinical pathway, in line with current best evidence.  Most of the Clinical Care Standards have indicators for local monitoring, and it is these indicators which have been implemented by ACHS for collecting data.

ACHS will offer the same level of benchmarking for each of the Clinical Care Standard indicators as our other 22 sets of indicators, with reporting at the twice-yearly interval for data collection (February and August).

Existing members indicator programs will be aligned with the Clinical Care Standard indicators to reduce overlap and extra reporting requirements, where possible.

“We look forward to our members submitting these indicators, especially in emerging areas of clinical care such as Acute Anaphylaxis, where currently there are no indicators,” said Performance and Outcomes Services Manager Mr Simon Cooper.

If you would like any set of clinical care standard indicators which have been implemented by ACHS added to your PIRT account for collection, please contact us at POS@achs.org.au
