Sustainability at ACHS: Building momentum through practical action

Following our sustainability launch in 2024, we are pleased to share continued progress as we build momentum and further embed sustainability across ACHS.

Sustainability at ACHS continues to be driven by steady, practical improvements across how we work, use resources, and make everyday decisions. This year has seen progress across environmental impact, consumables, energy use, and how we measure and embed sustainability across the organisation.

One of our major initiatives this year has been the launch of the ACHS Green Challenge. The challenge encourages staff to participate as individuals or teams, earning points for sustainability activities completed during work hours. Activities include using reducing waste, using public transport, and saving on energy usage. The Green Challenge highlights how small everyday actions can have a meaningful collective impact.

Key initiatives delivered over the past year 2025-26 include:

  • Environmental Impact and Emissions: Decreasing the emissions impact of IT processes
  • Consumables: Assisting staff with difficult-to-recycle materials and available services to support responsible disposal
  • Energy Consumption: Optimisation of air-conditioning system settings to balance energy efficiency and comfort
  • Embedding Sustainability: Inclusion of sustainability within the annual staff survey to strengthen organisational insight and reporting

As ACHS continues its sustainability journey, these initiatives reflect our commitment to creating lasting change through practical action, staff engagement, and continuous improvement. Visit our website to learn more.
