With 41 years of history, the ACHS Medal is our highest achievement, honouring an individual whose dedication has advanced quality and safety across Australian healthcare and beyond. This prestigious medal celebrates leadership, innovation, and lasting impact, recognising those who have advanced patient care in ways that reflect the mission and values of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards. 

How to Apply 

To be considered for the ACHS Medal, you can either be nominated by someone else or apply directly yourself. All nominations and applications must be made in writing through our online form. 
 
Nominees must demonstrate any or all of the following criteria at an international, national, or state-wide level: 

• Outstanding achievement in research into quality and safety of health systems 

• Distinguished leadership in quality practices 

• Outstanding achievement in maintaining a continuous quality improvement focus in healthcare delivery systems 

• Outstanding achievement in the promotion of quality in health care.
